It all began on July 26, 2008 in Arlington Virginia at approximately 6pm on Crystal Drive. Police officers driving around with sirens and securing the entire route, Pacers Running Store banners stretching through the entire route of the marathon race and Smack Energy Bar street team and promo vehicle giving out thousands of energy bars to the almost 3,000 runners that attended this great race. Smack Energy bar was an official sponsor of the event.
Pacers Running Store General Manager, Chris Farley said “Almost every single runner out here is a customer in one of our four stores, and we love being active within their communities.”
Similar races occur in other parts of Virginia and Silver Spring Maryland as seen on their website.

I remember being handed a bar and tasting it after I completed the run. This was defiantly the high light of the power bars that were there to choose from. Smack energy bar all day!
